    Slope = m = ( 135 - 159 ) / ( 50 - 20 ) = - 24/ 30 = - 4/5

    Equation of the line :

    m = -4/5....... P ( 50, 135 )

    y - 135 = - 4/5 ( x - 50 )

    ........ y = - 4/5 x + 40 + 135

    ........ y = - 4/5 x + 175 ...... The equation of the line

    Where x = age and y = beats / min

    Rate is - 4/5 beats/ min per year

    Age 40 that is x = 40

    y = - 4/5 (40) + 175 = - 32 + 175 = 143 beats/ min

    It is uncommon and also very dangerous! A normal resting heartrate is between 80-100 beats per minute. Even during strenuous exercise, one should have a heart rate no higher than 170 beats per minute. She could be causing permanent heart damage and should see a cardiologist for a cardiac stress test and/or echocardiogram

    rate of change =(159-135)/(20-50) = -0.8

    equation is: heartbeat - 159 = -0.8*(age - 20)

    -0.8*(40 - 20) + 159 = 143
