Presumably this is yet another anti-BBC rant loosely tied to the Jimmy Savile saga?
If every organisation in the country that has had sexual abuses happen on their property, were closed down... there would be very few left. Not least just about every local authority in the UK.
I don't watch very much tv anyway, but I know if I ever resume the habit, I will not want to be drip fed rubbish drama's, perpetual adverts and the bloody X-Factor.
There is a reason why the BBC is revered around the world (I know because I have travelled most of it)... it is because the BBC produces the best quality tv in the world bar none. The idea of it being replaced by yet another outlet for the likes of Murdoch should fill us all with fear. I don't know if you've ever watched 'Fox News'... but some of it literally makes me feel sick it is so bigoted and turgid.
The BBC is one of the few things this country has left that it can be proud of. I was recently in New York, where the DVD stores have entire sections devoted to BBC programmes. HBO and Showtime have both acknowledged that the standards they aim for, are those set by the BBC.
And people think the actions of one disgraceful person should bring the whole organisation down...?
It's idiot thinking isn't it.
