Why is there no movies for the Dark Tower series?

actually there is a continuing effort to make a series. Including possible Half movies half tv series.

BUT

last article ive seen on it says "Too big to make into a reasonable movie" and "Too big to contemplate into a movie"

So as of right now... Not anytime soon

I think it is being made into a movie. I havent read them but I think they are in talks with Steven King to make a few movies with gaps in between and fill in the gaps with a TV series.

I've never read them but I'm guessing they wouldn't translate well into film.
