If you're just gonna play on a single 1080p monitor, then a GTX 660 would be enough for you, here is what I can recommend:
EVGA SuperClocked 02G-P4-2662-KR GeForce GTX 660 2GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card - $230

The GTX 660 can max out all games with good FPS, it can play BF3 on 1080p at AF 16X and 4xAA with AVE FPS of 42:

And since the GTX 660 only requires 450W minimum PSU, This would be good enough:
SILVERSTONE Strider Essential series ST60F-ES 600W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply - $75 ($65 after rebate)

recommending a GTX 660ti and a power supply that's about 550w 80plus is a no brainer.
A GTX 670 is only a little bit faster but it's not a bad value. The GTX 680 is even worse off when you consider the price to performance ratio so I would not recommend saving up for that card. The price of the GTX 670 and GTX 680 has fallen a little bit. If you can I'd get a GTX 670 but a GTX 660ti or a Radeon 7950 will be fine for what you're doing.

Get a GTX 680, 500 dollars, best performance youll get out of a single graphics card (not being compared to the GTX 690 ofcourse...)
Edit: Save up just a bit more, there really is a differance between the GTX 680 and others!

i might want to in my opinion say any nvidia 9 series card will do you tremendous. Ati is think to be getting extra ideal yet i'm an nvidia fan so if i gave my opinion search for a BFG style card contained in the 9800 is the most suitable filtering down from there. even though it is basically my opinion.

either the 670 if you can afford it, or the 660ti. And get more RAM (you want 8 gigs). You probably need a new power supply as well, though you don't need 750w. A 600w will do fine. Check the wattage on your current psu first, though.

First of all you don't have to waste $400 on a graphic card. You could upgrade to a HD 6850 ($200) & it will do all you could ever want.
