but that can also mean infront of

tocante

is more literal translation

but your going to here the first word i said in everday sentences

"es hacia la iglesia" "it is towards the church"

Estoy caminando HACIA el supermercado.

or

Estoy caminando EN DIRECCIÓN AL supermercado.

I guess for direction it would be HACIA or EN DIRECCIÓN A
