Why is Israel about the only place in the Middle East that does not have oil?

Question

For as important as the land is to some of the largest religions why isn't there more to the land then things happened here? Why were the 'Chosen People' not given oil, trees, and other land resources?

Well, it is a tiny country. You know that, right? Besides, they do indeed have oil and natural gas reserves in shale, one of the largest undeveloped reserve in the world. And trees even grow there, believe it or not.

Well, for one thing, oil didn't become an important resource until the XIXnth century with the combustion engine and so forth...

And then later on with plastic... a whole other reason oil is so important... think of a world without plastic for a second... the keyboard you're writing on is just a start...

Back when the Bible was written, these were not important considerations. We live in a very different world today.

Both Israel and Lebanon don't have major oil rigs in their land – so it's not only about Israel. You should keep in mind that Israel is super tiny and it did recently find lots of natural gas along its coast line.

they have found vast reserves of natural gas recently and it is enough to run the country 100 years. a company called zion oil is worth looking into as they have indicated they may have found quite a bit off shore. this is in the 200 mile territory at sea which if it is there will surely start a fight over who gets it.

At first, its really small, second of all Israel has a lot of natural gas,and most of it economy based on high techs and technology.
