    Salaams dear Conumdrum:

you left out a very important part.

"Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be[e] (d)one, on Earth as it IS in Heaven."

i suggest you reference Luke 22:42 in regards to this question inshallah.

the Kingdom comes with rejoicing and gnashing of teeth inshallah.

"And they say: When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?" [10:48]

    answer 10:49 Holy Qur'an.

    1 Peter 5:14

    Mazel tov.

edit: The Lord's Prayer and the Holy Prayer Al-Fatiha are very close and Allah (swt) hears all prayers. They are both full of wonderful mysteries.! This is a truthful saying. Allahu Akbar!

the new kingdom that will reign forever.

King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream, he saw a giant statue with different material made from top to bottom. Those material formulate all the kingdom that came and conquered, Roman being the head/Gold.

Then a Rock from nowhere came and smashed the statue into pieces.

What is the rock? the rock is spiritual, it is not from Earth.

Jesus is known as Manna, bread, life, truth, Rock, Shepard, Lamp

"Thy Kingdom Come, On Earth as it is in Heaven"

meaning the Kingdom is where Jesus will be the King of us all, we will live in Peace.

Hence Kingdom of Heaven or Kindgom of God.

However the way things are done in the Kingdom will be like no other on Earth, it will be fair and justice.

This is why Jesus wants us to start living RIGHT NOW as if we are in the Kingdom.

If you work at a place 9am to 5pm, and someone was hired same day as you and only worked 3pm-5pm. He will get the same pay and you have no right to complain or call that unfair.

Jesus wants us to be used to these kind of things.

"whatever is lose on Earth will be loosed in Heaven and whatever is bind of Earth will be bound in Heaven"

right now we ought to start living like we are in the kingdom so we can be ready and be used to the new kingdom that comes.

Hence why it says "ON EARTH, as it is in heaven"

I will let scripture answer scripture.

2 Peter 3:13 says: "But there are new heavens and a new earth that we are awaiting according to his promise, and in these righteousness is to dwell." For occupants of this planet this new earth is very much important because we will live in peace and security to times indefinite.

Rev. 21:3,4 says:  With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” A magnificent part of the new earth will be NO MORE SUFFERING/NO DEATH. What a wonderful time that will be!

Daniel 2:44 explains the reality of what the Kingdom will accomplish:  “And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite;" The Kingdom under Jesus control will destroy all vestments of man made government and usher in a theocracy which will govern for 1000 years. At the end of his reign he will hand the controls back to his God and father Jehovah who will then reign supreme for eternity!!!! 1 Corinthians 15:28 explains: "But when all things will have been subjected to him, then the Son himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him, that God may be all things to everyone."

I always let the Bible do the talking because there then can be no controversy on whose thoughts are being displayed. These are God's thoughts as portrayed through the Holy writers. All I attempt to do is present information that can be used to formulate conclusions. thank you for letting me try to help you understand what the Kingdom of God will accomplish.

Whether we pray for this or not, it will come as predestined exactly on time.

What then does the prayer do? It focuses our thoughts and minds on what God does not want us to forget. It is by the kingdom that the various promises come true, the kingdom which is ruled by Christ.

This kingdom has been promised to destroy all national governments on earth so as to replace them. It is about to come now. It shall rule all earth by divine justice.

We are praying for YHVH God's Kingdom to be restored to what it should have been under Adam, Under YHVH God. Now we are praying for Yehshua To return & put the kingdom right under Israel that it was then given to so that all can be fulfilled restored & returned back to YHVH God the Almighty KING of all.

It's God's kingdom in Heaven that will come to earth when Jesus returns. Making the earth anew.

We always have to look for context when we examine scripture. the context of this section is Jesus giving his disciples an "example" of how to pray. this is not a prayer that is to be recited word for word but it contains ideas of what we are to thank God for and ask him for.

This prayer was also said before Jesus had gone to the cross to establish his kingdom (His church). So he is asking God to make sure all things come together so this can happen.

  • I think ... asking for God's Kingdom to come in fullness ... when Christ returns. But also asking for the gospel to be spread now by preaching, teaching, loving lives and miracles (as evidence and demonstrations of God's love).
