Tendular given Order of Australia, upsetting many Aussies.Should he accept this award, when most Aussies?
It would be great fun, if Tendulkar refuses to acknowledge this award but does he have the guts to do so, if this award is upsetting more than pleasing few?
Gavaskar paved the way, by refusing MCC membership because he was insulted by their guards earlier.
Tendulkar has faced enough opposition & criticism from the Aussies, for various reasons, to make him feel otherwise about this award.
That would ensure total outrage then, as those opposing this gesture would turn to asking-How can he refuse Order of Australia.
This is reverse psychology, those opposing a gesture by the Aussie P.M. should be given this scenario to tackle their outrage.
Its an honor to accept an award from an opposing country, as it carries no more than emotional value & goodwill, given by the higher authorities of another country.
Its a simple give & take, nothing changes in Tendulkar's life, if he were to accept this award.
India's Solicitor General Solly Sorbejee has already been conferred this award and we didn't even know this, till yesterday, as he has already retired and living a peaceful life in India, despite having the Order of Australia.
I think Tendulkar would also be doing the same, with this award & few photographs of him accepting this award from an Aussie minister in due course, hanging in his awards list, somewhere in his house.
So those expressing their displeasure should also think of the difference its going to make to the life of its recipient eventually.
Does it feel like an imaginary Triple Hundred against Australia by Tendulkar, which won't be acceptable to their fans, as they would find faults with him even then but won't acknowledge his greatness & achievements, in general, reason of their so called outrage.
