Below are employee reviews, pros and cons,of Thrivent Financial. Good Luck!!

“Financial Consultant” Former Financial Consultant in West Sacramento, CA–

Pros – Products and services are average for an insurance company. They have a good 800 number to support the clients. The training is good.

Cons – They exaggerate the amount of money one can make. The field management is very weak. Most promotions come from the home office. There are many hidden expenses. The established reps are treated like kings and queens. New reps. are not valued or respected. Old Boys network. They do not do what they say. Beware of over use of sales force software. The systems are old and do not link to each other.

“Thrivent Financial for Lutherans” Current Employee in Chicago, IL– Reviewed Aug 13, 2012

Pros – Some very hard working, caring people do their best to serve their community as well as make money. The benefits are great and in general, management is pretty flexible to your needs. They have locations all over the area and a good support system for their representatives.

Cons – Management is primarily interested in the bottom line, regardless of right or wrong. So if you think a Christian organization should always take the high moral road, this is not the place for you. Too much emphasis on appearance versus ability.

“Good benefits could use a Management overhaul.”

Current Employee in Appleton, WI– Reviewed Jul 19, 2012

Pros – Benefits are nice, time off, bonus, and other volunteer perks.

Cons – Management is very old school, not very progressive they are trying to make this better but it's going to take some time.

“Good place to work. It has unique advantages and challenges.”

Current Financial Representative in Denver, CO– Reviewed Sep 9, 2009

Pros – The upside income potential is huge, and there is some inherent trust built in to being a rep for Thrivent. Their new fr financing program is pretty good.

Cons – There is a lot of turnover these days and members get pretty upset about that. It is full commission work after 18 months which is very difficult. Very few people are successful without being heavily involved in a church. So if you aren't religious, going to church every Sunday and getting heavily involved can be quite a challenge.

Advice to Senior Management – More marketing would help out, take on more non propietary products so that we can appeal to the non-Lutheran client.
