Paris, Eris (the goddess of discord) and Aphrodite were the main provocateurs of the Trojan war.

It began when Eris who was not invited to Hera's party..... throw an Golden Apple into the party-goers, creating a tussle among Hera,Athene and Aphrodite, as the apple was inscribed : 'For the Fairest'.

Who rightly should take ownership of the Golden Apple ???

Zeus politely refrained from judging but chose Paris to be the judge.

The three, Hera, Athene and Aphrodite went straight to Paris for the judgement. Paris knew what he wanted, so he selected Aphrodite to be " the fairest of all" as her promise of Helen fitted into his plans.

Paris was very much in love with Helen.

This was the beginning of the Trojan War, a full-scale war between the Trojans and the Greeks.

A pledge by the many previous suitors to help Helen's father in an emergency was put into action.

Subsequently, Paris kidnapped Helen and she was made to fall in love with Paris by Aphrodite.

In the on-going battle, Hector, Paris' brother was killed by Achilles and dragged around the wall of Troy. This also angered Zeus and Athene for the senseless way that Achilles basked in the defeat of Hector.

Paris was ever ready to kill Achilles.

In another follow-up battle with the Greeks, Paris killed Achilles by an arrow directed at his heel.

Some sources say that it was Zeus who guided the arrow at Achilles' heel. Other account says ..... it was Athene.

Without the Trojan Horse, the Greeks would have lost the war.

Finally, Paris earned the vengeance against Achilles.

These were the involvements of Paris in the Trojan War.

Paris pretty much started the Trojan War. Eris threw the apple of discord into Hera's party she was having and on the apple was ingraved, "To the fairest." Aphrodite, Athena and Hera all thought they were the fairest of all the goddesses. They wanted Zeus to choose, but he couldn't, so he decided to have Paris choose. He chose Aphrodite in order to recieve Helen in return, though she was already to married to Menelaus. Little did Paris know that before Helen was married, all of those trying to marry her had to agree to the Suitor's Pact. I'll assume you know the story from now on and I'll just get to the point. He had little involvement. He started it, and then much later on avenged the death of his brother Hector by killing Achilles, Greece's best warrior. If it had not been for the Trojan Horse, the Greeks could have been easily defeated after the death of Achilles.
