Hockey is the easy answer. But there is a lot more to baseball packing than the average fan realizes . Hockey has bigger equipment such as goalie gear, each goalie carries not one but two complete sets of pads and often they carry anywhere from 3 to 6 pairs of skates as well. Skaters usually have 3 or more sets of gloves (people might be surprised how many times a game a player will switch gloves) and most carry at least 2 sets of skates. Players usually carry around a dozen sticks for road trips and they usually bring at least 3 sets of uniforms (again many players will completely change their uniform in between every period). Add in the things like skate and glove dryers, towels, water bottles, tape and skate sharpening gear and the typical trip fills the cargo area of team planes. 23 players along with the other travelers come close to plane capacity, something it usually takes 120-150 passengers to do.

But baseball has its fair share of equipment too. They carry far more uniforms because with games every day it is difficult to do laundry and many teams actually ship home laundry because of the massive requirements to keep it all clean. Players also change uniforms often during games, gloves, shoes and shirts in particular. So the typical ballplayer carries several gloves and several pairs of shoes and baseball players usually carry at least a dozen bats with many who carry up to 2 dozen. Each catcher carries 2 full sets and some carry more along with a half dozen other sets of catchers gear for the bullpens and the equipment guys for baseball have plenty of packing to do as well.

  • Hockey.

Bats and sticks are largely a wash.

For hockey you need protective equipment which is more voluminous than the stuff for baseball. Goalies wear more stuff than catchers.

hockey dude, without a doubt. you have all pads from helmet to skates, shin, elbow, shoulder pads, gloves, all the necessities and the sticks too.

baseball, the max is a bat or two, playing uniforms, and cleats.

i think the answer should be obvious!

    Hockey, by far

Stick, all of the protective equiptment, bulky skates, etc

versus a bat, some balls and your pinstripes. Seriously. I could pack more in my suitcase on vacation than that.
