Who are the closest allies of Netherlands?

Who are the allies of the Netherlands and out of those who is the closest ally.

P.S.

By "closest" I mean in terms of how reliant and how crucial they are to Holland's interests, not by physical distance.

The Netherlands is member of NATO. As such all NATO countries would be 'allies'.

Canada in particular has been a strong ally of the Netherlands.

It was primarily Canada that liberated the Netherlands during World War 2. As thanks to Canada, in 1946 the Dutch Royal family send 100,000 tulip bulbs to Canada. There is a Tulip Festival held in Ottawa every spring. Part of that festival commemorates the close ties between the Netherlands and Canada.

The Dutch Royal family spend World War 2 in exile in Canada. Princess Margriet, the sister of Queen Beatrix was born in 1943 at the Ottawa Civic Hospital. The floor where she was born was declared as being temporary Dutch territory in order to ensure Princess Margriet would be a Dutch citizen and there could be no complication of Canadian citizenship.

Canada and the Netherlands operated closely together conducting combat operations in Afghanistan.
