be it true or not 不管是真是假

= no matter it is/be true or not <--- 用be比用is強烈

be you innocent or guilty

= no matter you are/be innocent or guilty <--- 用be比用are強烈

    be he innocent 就算他無辜

= (even) though he is/be innocent <--- 用be比用is強烈

be he wealthy as Bill Gates

= (even) though he be as wealthy as Bill Gates <--- 用be比用is強烈

Without it, though he be not guilty, he faces the danger of conviction

because he does not know how to establish his innocence.

    be he not guilty

= (even) though he is/be not guilty <--- 用be比用is強烈

Do you mean the "be" within "though he be not guilty"?

I think the "be" is perfectly fine, at least better than "is".

basically, verb in root form is commonly used to emphasize

    wish, fact, demand and request.

As matter of fact, my problem with this Q is the word "because".

I think "for" will be stronger.

    What examples?

    Here they are:

Though he be the smartest in his class, many stupid things he did landed him in jail.

Give me your money; be it $1 and $2.

To me, it is a typo! It is NOT possible to use it that way. It is likely that "be" is a typo for "is".
