As near as I can tell...he is not Jewish. He is Hispanic and was at one time a xtian minister. Where and when he received his Simcha is not provided. He does have followers and some things he says are dead on but some things are wildly askew. For instance, he claims that if you are not able to go through a proper conversion that you can "convert yourself". Ummm..NO!
He lives in Colorado and there is a video somewhere...of him holding either an Uzi, AK-47 or Galil (I can't remember which) ON SHABBAT!. Now, I am into the 2nd amendment and obviously so is he but the issue is that...it was Shabbat. His answer is that "we must always know how to protect ourselves". He is right but unless his life was in immediate danger, there was no reason for him to be fawning over a firearm ON SHABBAT! In addition....it was Shabbat. Who was filming this?
He has also attacked Chabad which, while it may have faults, also does EXCELLENT work in the Jewish community and it is vital work. Meza is one of the only evangelical "Jews" (I put that in quote as I have no idea if he is even Jewish) I have ever met. He think everyone should be Jewish and not Noachide and calls the 7 Noachide laws "bogus". His "teachings" on this are not based on Torah...AT ALL.
Meza did argue with Michael Brown (a person born to a Jewish mother but was raised secular and then embraced xtianity) and won (imho) but I do not think he is a Rabbi.
So, I am a Rabbinical student and I correct people who call me Rabbi. I am not a Rabbi. My father is a Rabbi. My grandfather was. My great grandfather was. I am not...yet. So, unless he wants to provide who preformed his conversion and the information regarding his Simcha, I have reason to believe he is neither a Rabbi nor even Jewish.
