Do people in the state of Mississippi eat gumbo?

I know it's a Louisiana thing, but do people in Mississippi eat gumbo too? i guess you could eat it anywhere but I'm saying is it like a common thing in Mississippi as it is in Louisiana? I'm writing a short novel for English and I need to know for my story! Thanks so much! Please help me!

Yes,it's pretty popular in Mississippi, especially in southern Mississippi. Some of the ingredients in Mississippi gumbo might be a little different than Louisiana's gumbo. Some other southern state have gumbo too.People in Mississippi, also eat crawfish, red beans & rice, and jambalaya, which are popular dishes in Louisiana.

People all over eat gumbo, darlin'.

My late uncle was from Texas, and was one of the best Cajun cooks I ever knew.

Taught me how to make a gumbo my friends rave over.

(it starts with a good roux.)

But yeah, folks all along the Mississippi eat gumbo.
