I know for a fact that Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts, Toby Keith, and Brad Paisley have some songs about war and the soldiers over there. I would try and check those out. I am not sure that they are all sad though.

Well 'Hero of War' by Rise Against is a great song about war, but it's not about the romance. It's about a man reflecting on the horror of his experiences and how the image taken home is just a complete fabrication of the truth. It's a stunning song.

Other than that all that comes to mind is the music video for 'Wake me up when September ends' by Green Day

    Dixie Chicks - Travellin' Soldier

Miranda Lambert - Over You [Not exactly war related but the lyrics can be interpreted so]

I'm pulling one from memory here, by Tex Ritter "Daddy's Last Letter." Then just one name worth checking out after this would be S Sgt. Barry Sadler. You can find some of his songs on Youtube.

  • 1)'Just A Dream' by Carrie Underwood

    2)'For You' by Keith Urban
