-12/15/10 Chicago Tribune: “As recently as 2004, a Thomas B. Fordham Institute study found that 39% of CPS teachers sent their own kids to private schools.”

Who do the teachers give their political cash to?

http://www.opensecrets.org/orgs/list.php, Top All-Time Donors, 1989-2012:

-The National Education Association gave $43,613,263: 71% went to democrats, 5% to Republicans.

-The American Federation of Teachers gave $34,698,466: 86% went to democrats, 0% to Republicans.

January 2007 Manhattan Institute study (manhattan-institute.org):

-According to the BLS, the average public school teacher in the United States earned $34.06 per hour in 2005.

-Compared with public school teachers, editors and reporters earn 24% less; architects, 11% less; psychologists, 9% less; chemists, 5% less; mechanical engineers, 6% less; and economists, 1% less.

-Public school teachers are paid 61% more per hour than private school teachers, on average nationwide.

Bureau of Labor Statistics http://www.bls.gov/k12/help01.htm: In May 2008, elementary school teachers had average yearly wages of $52,240. Middle school teachers made an average of $52,570 each year, while high school teachers made $54,390 each year. Special education teachers made slightly more than regular teachers. Some teachers earn extra money during the summer by doing other jobs. [Note that the amounts don’t include benefits]

2/22/12 CNN, Buffalo, NY: The sweet deal that all the 3,400 teachers in Buffalo are eligible to get under one of their insurance plan options, they are billed nothing for any plastic surgery procedure, such as botox, liposuction, tummy tucks, [hair removal, breast enhancement, rhinoplasty] and there is no deductible; Linda Tokarz teaches second grade and says she gets regular treatments. She says, "I think its great for us. I wouldn't want to see it taken away”

6/11/12 Cato Institute (http://www.cato-at-liberty.org/obama-vs: ...teacher employment has exploded — the public school workforce has grown 11 times faster than student enrollment over the last 40 years.”

“Furthermore, on a per pupil basis, the inflation-adjusted average cost of a K-12 education has gone from about $55,000 to about $150,000.”

6/14/12 townhall.com: Every pay period, the Philadelphia school district puts $155 per union member into a special fund that helps educators pay their personal legal bills, which includes everything from routine legal advice to estate planning.

And what do we get for all this?

-12/7/07 Washington Post: “The scores from the 2006 Program for International Student Assessment showed that U.S. 15-year-olds trailed their peers from many industrialized countries. The average science score of U.S. students lagged behind those in 16 of 30 countries in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, a Paris-based group that represents the world's richest countries. The U.S. students were further behind in math, trailing counterparts in 23 countries.”

-3/9/11 AP: An estimated 82 percent of U.S. schools could be labeled as "failing" under the nation's No Child Left Behind Act this year, Education Secretary Arne Duncan said Wednesday. "We should get out of the business of labeling schools as failures and create a new law that is fair and flexible, and focused on the schools and students most at risk," Duncan said. Like all irresponsible Marxist Socialists the ones Chicago Union Zealots desire No accountability for the results in their movements. They desire extra pay and advantages and such a lot of all, they do not desire to have any chance of being fired on the grounds that they FAIL at doing their jobs. They desire all Teaching Standards eliminated and do not desire their scholars failure to go countrywide ordinary exams to place Them at chance. They do not even desire their scholars proven.
