How would you say "Love and Light" in Hawaiian?

I'm getting a tattoo and it has a Hawaiian origin. And I want it to say Love and Light but I think it would be really cool if it was in Hawaiian.

Getting a tattoo of a phrase in another language is not always a good idea if you must ask someone else for it's translation. Anyone could give you a bunch of words that sound like the language you want, words that don't mean anything close to what you want, or even something very malicious.

With that said, "ke aloha a me ka lama" (pronounced keh ah-LOH-hah ah meh kah lah-mah) means "the love and the light" in Hawaiian.

Other phrases that also may work are:

    Ka lama o ku'u aloha

    Kah lah-mah oh koo-(short pause)-oo ah-LOH-hah

    The light of my love

Ke aloha i ka mea hā'ena

    Keh ah-LOH-hah ee kah meh-yah HAW-(short pause)-eh-nah

    The love that burns intensely

Again, please check with a reputable Hawaiian language website such as http://wehewehe.org/ to insure these phrases' accuracy. Don't just accept what a random stranger says especially if you plan on permanently marking your body in a language you commonly don't speak in.
