I find it hypocritical that Republicans say that they want less government, and then they turn around and try to control other people's lives (such as on abortion or the ability to love and marry who you wish) - usually by putting on the mantle of "God said so."

As long as person can't be forced even to donate blood to save somebody else, a woman should not be forced to carry a fetus that she doesn't want.

Note that God and the Bible are not against abortion or killing babies:

First, about 1/3 of all pregnancies end in a natural abortion. This makes God (who supposedly controls everything) the biggest abortionist of all. Plus, in Noah's flood God killed almost all the babies on Earth.

    Leviticus 27:6

If it is a person between one month and five years, set the value of a male at five shekels of silver and that of a female at three shekels of silver.

[NOTE: Babies have just monetary value, not moral value, and no value is placed on fetuses or babies less than one month old.]

    Numbers 5:21

here the priest is to put the woman under this curse of the oath - "may the LORD cause your people to curse and denounce you when he causes your thigh to waste away and your abdomen to swell (causes you to have a miscarrying womb and barrenness)."

    Exodus 21:22,23

"If men who are fighting hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely [has a miscarriage] but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined whatever the woman's husband demands and the court allows. But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life."

    Hosea 9:14

Give them, O LORD — what will you give them? Give them wombs that miscarry and breasts that are dry.

    Hosea 13:16

... because they have rebelled against their God. They will fall by the sword; their little ones will be dashed to the ground, their pregnant women ripped open.

    2 Kings 15:16

At that time Menahem, starting out from Tirzah, attacked Tiphsah and everyone in the city and its vicinity, because they refused to open their gates. He sacked Tiphsah and ripped open all the pregnant women.

    Numbers 31:17

"And kill every woman who has slept with a man."

    Psalm 137:8-9

O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us. Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

    Jeremiah 19:9

"And I the Lord will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and they shall eat every one the flesh of his friend."

    Deuteronomy 28:53

"Then you shall eat the offspring of your own body, the flesh of your sons and of your daughters whom the Lord your God has given you."

We all make choices in this life - and we have to live with those choices - Roe v. Wade or not. At this time in our economic instability, job loss, housing crisis, education crisis, division of the American community - - if these vital issues are not worked on and solved - Roe v. Wade will become a low priority.

nope... she doesn't have the right to control anyone else... no more than you do.

and BTW.... Romney/Ryan would do no such thing. They say they will like all the other GOP candidates over the years... they will make all the promises in the world... then when they get into office they will go about the business of repaying their financial backers and the voters can go screw themselves.

Why didn't Bush do anything about abortion? he had a republican congress.

She lost all her credibility when she mentioned God. That brands the pro-life movement as a bunch of religious nuts.

Doe of Doe v. Bolton does a much better job of presenting the pro-life case.

No, it is not all I need to know. She and all pro-lifers are free to not have abortions. That doesn't give them the right to make that decision for anyone but themselves.

The SC does not consider the individual involved, but the principle.

People change their minds all the time; we should judge ideas based on what they are, not who espouses them or renounces them.

This nation needs abortion. Think of how bad things would be with millions of unwanted children further stretching the welfare system and every other system.

I love guns and hate abortions but I don't vote republican.
