1900-1913 Japan Help?

im doing a history project on japan between 1900-1913 and i'm getting nowhere. i need to know if japan had any enemies or allies during this period of time and if Japan had access to colonial markets and resources. It would be even better if you could give me a website for it. thanks a lot :D

The war between Russia and Japan, 1904-5, springs to mind. This might get you started.

Keep in mind that Japan was on "our" side in WWI. (I'm assuming you might be from the USA or UK; I'm Australian.)
