I have an old skateboard that i put abec 7 bearing in and it had no effect, why is this?

The board seems a couple years old. and came with standard non-abec bearing and i replaced them with my old Abec 7s which worked perfectly fine on my long board but on the skateboard it has no effect whatsoever

ABEC ratings are basicly meaningless for skates and boards. It is an industrial vibration rating for machines spinning at rates that would be over 200 mph on a board.

Some non-abec rated bearings are actually better and faster than abec rated bearings. The top makers (Zero Drag, Bones, Twin Cam) all make bearings that were designed for better rolling but have to violate the abec specs to have clearances in the right places.
