What are the major benifits of using Regular Electricity or Solar Electricity?

Hi guys i was just reading about solar energy more importantly about it's energy saving properties, i just wonder why most of the people on planet still prefer regular electricity instead of solar power, is there any disadvantage of using solar power?

There is a disadvantage to them. For one it is extremely expensive to use only solar to power your whole house because the solar systems are so expensive. I something falls on the panel it may break and at that point you will have to buy all new ones. Even a small broken area can make the panel so inefficient it is almost unusable.

The amount of solar panels to power a house can take up a lot of space and is not always great to look at. They are definately are great supplement to your electricity and can save you a lot of money over time. If you are only using solar you will have to get battery systems with inverters to power your home for the time when the sun is not out. Also no power when dark or very cloudy.

Some other sources of energy to look at are windpower, hydropower, and even wood gasifiers with generators.

There are no disadvantages to solar power the only reason not many people use it is because it is not available to them. Solar panels are expensive and normally generate during the summer or sunny days more energy than you need. So you can actually make quite a profit if you go through the expensive part of buying them and installing them. In the UK however, they are setting up solar panels on peoples houses for free as long as the sign a terms and conditions than any extra energy is taken by the company that owns the solar panels. You still get a large part of your energy bills paid for and if you are living in your house for sometime you would more than likely save a lot of money. The problem is even though in some places in the world for instance India electricity is used in such a wide-scale and in a large number of watts it is just still cheaper to pay for your regular electricity. Corrupt governments are not always keen in getting involved in projects that will make their investment money back from 8-10 years. This is partly why India and that area of the world deal with a lot of power outages and their solution to this is to just build dams and receive hydro power from that to run their country. This can't last forever the energy is a lot from hydro power but not enough. Countries like India need to modernize and take a step into the light literally and begin their steps to using solar energy. More advance energy saving countries like japan for instance use electric cars ran by a plug in your house that receives it's energy from a solar panel on your roof. Some people in Japan have hardly any bills it's amazing.

Solar energy does not have energy saving properties but it is cleaner to generate. Regular electricity is produced by burning coal or fossil fuel which emits carbon dioxide which is responsible for global warming and climate change. People do not use solar that much because: 1) It is expensive to produce 2) Solar technology is still not at that stage that it can produce all the electricity required by human being.

Solar panels tend to be expensive, but will pay for themselves in savings. You can get solar panels to power your general electric needs or more specific needs, such as a solar powered water heater.

The coolest part about solar energy is if you have an excess of solar power, you can sell it back to the power company and make some money back!

Solar power is far more enriched than electric reason being it generates from the sun saving you energy costs.. Keep home cool in summer and warm in winter and this is Eco friendly and prices have come down people are using thes panels more often these days on the roof. Electric is expenive and as long as your home is insulated correctly you are good to go

There's no real disadvantage, but the costs of installing such a system. Usually the timeframe through which it regenerates the initial investment is around 10-15 years, which is a long time for many people. However if you consider the carbon footprint reduction and the overall sustainability it brings to you home, I think the costs are redundant and worth the investment.

Benefits of Solar Electricity is higher and safer than Regular Electricity. You don't need to pay monthly bills after installation in your house and business. You can maintain and control consumption level in solar.

Regular electricity asks you monthly bills and can't control consumption level. It is not safe as solar.

yes there is a disadvantage that if the solar cell gets too hot it can burst up and harm the connections...the regular electricity is nowadays more reachable and easy to get... that's why people prefer regular electricity....
