"Error Upon Error" as they say, History depends upon who writes it. Care to C/C this poem?

.

Error Upon Error

Columbus is blamed for it all

Thinking that India is where he landed

The people, Indians he did call

Error to another added

As still it has been so

Since centuries ago.

What if to Mars I would then sail

To look for life, or for other simians

But Venus landing did prevail

And creatures there I called "Martians"

Would it remain as so

Even after we know?

I love your latest poems on history and humankind !

(Though I also love your sonnets as well) nice change.

But that's because I love history, space (and math too)

and your very intelligent way of seeing it.....and calling

it what it is, instead of what many do and tear apart our

heros and great ones of the past. Bravo.... Nicely done.

Hi. Truthful thoughts in this piece, we human are not perfect, God knew this perfectly, that's the reason He said that man ( His people ERROR). Because of the lack of knowledge. We also learned from our human mistakes , we cannot fix every thing, but we can try, by first starting from our own selves first. I like the image , the topic , and the feelings I get from these words. Thanks for sharing.

    Columbus, Petronius, H.Bruce Franklin and Homer`s `Iliad`?

I`d veto them all - to tell the ttruth - Claudius the one who had it made!

    An unusual theme

yet the usual clear observations from you, Questor..

    A good question too.

I get it. Cool thought. Yep, that happens a lot. Look up the origin of the Wgasa railway at the San Diego zoo!

just goes to show that we r all humans & make mistakes

even people from centuries ago yet the world & life goes on

tho we correct our misleadings & mistakes when discovered

when it was found that the world was not flat we did not go on

sayin that it was did we? so that might help answer ur thought.

Like what DeeZire have said, I enjoy this one pretty much too, very good imagination here, indeed what would it be if we landed in Venus and call them "Martians", let's hope they won't be that stupid again.

    Unusual topic.

    An interesting concept.

"Matter of fact" way it's composed

    is workmanlike and average.

You are delving into social commentary and philosophy. A very interesting development.
