U.S Federal Taxes vs. State Taxes?
What is the difference between the taxes such as EXCISE TAXES of those of the Government and those of the state...do we pay both government and state just to buy EXCISE ITEMS?

excise taxes are imposed by the federal gov't, I am unaware of any state excise taxes
time was that jewelry, cosmetics had excise taxes imposed
currently there are excise taxes on communications, I believe tires, and possibly expensive luxury cars
