What is the point of "Anonymous" attacking the Job Centre website?

In support of Assange, they did a DDOS attack on DWP's website last night ... what will this achieve, apart from stopping everyone's Giro going out? And isn't it like picketing somewhere at 2am in the morning?? A bit pointless??? Please explain!
