If you want a BRAND NEW account with all new details, sign out of your account, then on the new sign-in page, click 'Create a New Account' or click this link and fill out the form to create a new account. https://edit.yahoo.com/registration?.int%85

You can also go to http://www.yahoo.com to click 'Sign up' ...

Have your wife with you while you set up the account, so the entries will be meaningful choices for her. Many usernames have already been taken, but Yahoo now allows the use of periods in the middle of the username, so that might be helpful. Use a very strong password (a mixture of letters, capitals, punctuation, symbols, numbers - the longer the better, at least 12-14 characters.) Start with a sentence, and make many substitutions. Be sure the result is one you can remember! Also, select Secret Questions (and answers) that nobody could guess. (Yahoo even allows you to invent your own Secret Questions - those will be easier to remember!)

Set up an alternate e-mail address as well, just in case you forget your password or have difficulties with the account.. Yahoo usually suggests you have an alternate e-mail address that is NOT from Yahoo for password and account recovery and security. (These also need to be signed in regularly, or they will go dormant from inactivity and be closed.)

Click on this link to get a G-mail account: http://mail.google.com/mail/help/open.html

Click on this one for a Hotmail or Live account: http://explore.live.com/windows-live-hotmail

You can then import your Contacts list from the old account to keep them. Mail will go to either account, but they are separate. Sign out of one to sign in again at the other. Remember to sign in every six months, or the account goes dormant ...
