Will I Be Able To Play Guild Wars 2, 3 Days Early?
As you can see on https://www.guildwars2.com/en/ , by pre-ordering Guild Wars 2, you are entitled to a 3 day head start on the game, meaning you get to start playing on the 25th, not the 28th. Today I walked in to my local gamestop and put my $5 deposit down to preorder the game (you pay the remaining cost when you pick it up). On the gamestop website it also advertises the 3 day headstart, http://www.gamestop.com/pc/games/guild-wars-2/7586... However, it says the game will be in stock on the 28th....Does this mean I won't be able to pick up the game and start playing early? Anybody know? I know it may not seem important at all whether or not I play the game 3 days early or not, but the 25th is a Saturday meaning I can play the game with my buddies for the weekend, instead of antagonizing over playing it throughout the week. Any answers would be appreciated!

What you did was a pre-order, which only gives you a 1 day headstart. A pre-purchase (paying for the game in full) is what you need for the 3 day headstart. What I would do in your case is go back to GameStop and pay for the game in full asap. As soon as that happens, they should give you 2 receipts. One will be used when you pick up the game. The second will have a key code on it and direct you to http://register.guildwars2.com. Once you enter the key on that site and set up your account, you will be able to download the game and be all set for Friday night/Saturday morning at midnight, which is when the game will go live. I would continue to check back for updates daily right now from the time you have the game downloaded until the game goes live, as they are making changes frequently. You don't want to spend your game time downloading.
FYI, per ArenaNet, the servers may open up for character creation early on Friday night.
Good luck and hope to see you in GW2!!
8 days 'til we can play, any time, any day!!!

1. You have pre-ordered Guild Wars 2, but only pre-purchasers, who pay in full, get the 3-day head start.
2. If you pre-purchase a store copy you will still be able to download the client from areana.net and be able to play it even without the physical box. You can't get the box until the 28th, so if you are waiting on the disks so you don't have to download the client you won't be able to take advantage of the headstart.

There is a difference between pre-purchasing (paying in full right away) and pre-ordering (putting down a deposit). Only pre-purchases from authorized retailers give you the pre-purchase bonuses, including the 3-day headstart. Gamestop used to participate in this pre-purchase program, but from what we've heard recently, they stopped offering pre-purchase codes this clode to release date, and are now only offering standard retail versions.
If you absolutely want to get the 3-day headstart, then your only option may be to purchase the digital edition from the official website (see link below).Source(s): https://buy.guildwars2.com/en/

You might want to get in touch with GameStop support to get the issue sorted out. They can probably change your purchase so you can get the 3 day head start. Start here:
Hit the "Email us" at the bottom of the black FAQ box and let them know what's up.
When you do get in-game, roll a character on the Sorrow's Furnace server and join our guild, Potentia! :)
We're on the look out for new members and allies to party with. :)
