I think I might start with Kroger, but I would call the stores first to see if they have what you need. With that being said, make sure they know what you're talking about.
A few years ago, I was on the hunt to mason jars so I could make Watermelon Rind Pickles. First I went to the local Ralphs thinking they had them, and they had stopped stocking them, so I called Vons and asked them if they had mason jars, they assured me they had, and then when I got there, the manager said they stopped stocking them also because they weren't big sellers. Now that people are canning again, both the stores have mason jars.
Last Christmas, trying to find suet was almost impossible. Suet is the hard fat around the kidney of a cow. It's used for making puddings and pastries. The butcher at Whole Foods had never even heard of it, I had to educate him and other butchers I talked to. I was finally had a friend go to a British butcher several miles away, purchase it, and bring it to me.
Good luck with your ingredients!
