Do Olympian medalist receive any form of monetary reward from the IOC or any sports world body?

Each country decides how much the medals are worth. The USA Olympic Committee gives athletes $25,000 for a gold medal, $15,000 for silver and $10,000 for bronze. So they don't receive money from the IOC, but from their own country and each country is different on the price of the medals. Also, athletes can make money from signing endorsements for brands, which will be different for each athlete. Gymnastics and swimming medalists will probably make more than say a rowing or equestrian medalist.
