Can you be charged twice for stabbing the same person twice?

If you stab someone, serve yourtime then get out and stab the same Person again can you be charged for the same stabbing crime, or does double jeopardy prevent that?

Yes. Double jeopardy only protects you against multiple charges for the same specific offence. It does not protect you against being charged once each for multiple offences of a similar nature.

In the situation you describe, you have attacked the same person on two separate occasions, which constitutes two separate offences. As such, you can be charged for each offence, and double jeopardy won't protect you from that.

If you only stabbed them once, served your time and never did anything again, and they tried to re-charge you for the first stabbing a second time, then you would be protected by double jeopardy. But if you attacked them a second time, then you aren't being re-charged for the same offence, you are being charged for a new offence.

Double jeopardy applies to charging someone twice for the same instance of a crime. Merely committing the same crime again doesn't allow you to escape prosecution claiming double jeopardy.

No it does not. It's a new separate case. Now if u stabbed someone and they were dead with documents proving that and then by miracle that person is falsely accused for killing someone who is still alive, then legally you would be able to kill them IF YOU SERVED THE TIME ALREADY. Watch double jeopardy the movie and you'll see what I'm talking about. U can't keep stabbing someone without getting charged each time for it.

If a crime is two separate events, then you can be charged twice, even if they were committed against the same person.

I think there is going to be a harder punishment since is twice and they expect you learned it after that one time, so yes.
