well you will definetly have to see the old town, promenade des anglais of course, then theres place Massena. if you want to go shopping, go to rue de france, jean Medecin. for eating go to cours saleya - the main old town square, theres nice view, full of people and nice restaurants and bars that are not overpriced for cote d'azur standard. climb up the hill separating old town and the port, you'll get nice view of the whole city. then for beach, or you stay in nice, but theres no sand, pebbles only, or you go to nearby places like villefranche sur mer. dont forget to visit monaco, cannes ;) have fun!Source(s): living here

Take a fair bit of money! The cote d'azur is very expensive. Nice is an attractive place though - I recommend the fountains on the Place Massena and the adjacent parks, the flower market at cours saleya (on some days there's an antiques market also.)
Nice has some fine belle epoque architecture such as the Negresco Hotel on the sea front, and a fine Russian Orthodox Church. You can travel easily by train to other towns nearby such as Cannes, Monaco etc.
