All fights and all opponent of Guillermo Rigondeaux is a test for him. His lack of professional fights makes some believe of him unworthy of a shot although his win were all eye popping one except against Ricardo Cordova. Signing with TR is an assurance that he will have a fight with Nonito Donaire in the future as long as he stay in the division where Nonito is and kept on winning. His asking price was also one of the few obstacles that has to be address. Lower weight division in boxing is very underrated and can not raise enough enthusiasm or no appeal to boxing fans that gives the promoters a second thoughts of promoting a fight as the main attraction.
Nothing much on Roberto Marroquin except he have a one loss record. No big name on his list that makes him unknown. This is a sure win for Rigondeaux unless something bizarre happens which is a common routine nowadays, that is, expect the unexpected.
Another very good prospect in Super Bantamweight Division is Jesse Magdaleno. Although with only a few fights in his resume (11W) which is just about the same as of the record of Rigon, I will be more excited to see a fight between both of them.
I hope Nonito Donaire consider fighting Jesse Magdaleno too. More entertaining than Donaire vs. Rigondeaux
