I only know MSU because I grew up and live in Michigan. I am an incoming college freshman and a majority of my high school class of 93 kids are attending MSU. It has over 200 academic programs and a huge and pretty campus with 40,000 students. If you like big schools, you'll love MSU. Football there is huge, of course.
As far as business goes, you would probably be looking into the Eli Broad College of Business within MSU. You might have to double-check on that, since MSU is so big, it has a section of campus just for business majors. Anyway, its programs include accounting, information systems, finance, management, marketing and supply chain management, and hospitality business. The college is ranked 11th by Business Week magazine.
How do I know that stuff? I looked into it, myself! I want to be a business major. However, I chose a different school because of the amount of scholarships I received. Unfortunately, MSU isn't an easy school to get scholarships from.
According to my friends, who have been to MSU many times now before their first semester, they already met a lot of different people. My friends and I have been in the same schools from kindergarten to high school and it was mostly middle-class white folks, so they told me all about the different people they met.
But anyways, MSU is a great school. My family and friends highly recommend it. However, I cannot compare it to University of Minnesota because I know nothing about the school nor can I tell you anything about MSU's criminal justice program.
Look on MSU's or University of Minnesota's (don't want to call it UofM, that makes me think of Uni of Michigan, haha) website or on collegeboard.com for more info on the schools!
Good luck at your future endeavors! :)
applied to MSU. Almost decided to attend there. Has friends and family who are attending and who have attended the school.
