Why aren't the Olympics in Chicago?
- Anonymous7 years agoFavorite Answer
Incredibly the two greatest cities in America have never hosted an Olympics
Apparently the IOC is more corrupt than either of those two cities are.
Despite the fact that NYC and Chicago could host the summer Olympics w/o building anything new such a common sense and fiscally prudent approach would deny the IOC the vig that they get from new construction

I saw a news story on it a while ago. It doesn't bring as much revenue as you would think. People living in Chicago don't want it there because their jobs get shut down for a few days and they have to pay to set stuff up. The tourism doesn't exactly pay off. Sorry I can't remember the specific details.
