what could the problem be and how can i fix it?

2000 Ford Contour v6. I just had a new tensioner installed because the belt kept slipping. Now when I crank and drive the car there is a terrible screaming noise, that kind of settles down when im at red lights but starts back as soon as I drive again. What could be the problem?

Serpentine belt is loose, you need more tension for loud squeeking noise on certain low RPM but disappears on high RPM. If your tensioner is self adjusting, maybe you need a new serpentine belt or the pulley of the new tensioner is smaller than the original.

The cause is probably that the belt is over tensioned.
