What is the key to being zen and living a zen lifestyle?
How does someone live a zen lifestyle and having a zen attitude?

When one has to ask 'how to live zen' they've missed the point!
Although, all zen practitioners ask the same question and only 'few' come to understand it.. (Unfortunitely)
When one believes he's living a 'zen lifestyle' = he isn't!
That's why zen is so hard to explain!
Zen is what you were 'before' you started asking questions
Before we jump on the 'zen path' we were already on the zen path, but Then we become spiritual (for whatever reason) and start 'seeking' something 'other than what is.., something 'outside' our self, and then we read loads of books on zen and meditate loads hoping to find something, and we really believe that 'this' is the zen path but we start suffering more and more because we are 'seeking' something which is not, we are seeking something other than 'this moment' right now!....this is not zen living. This is a spiritual seeking path. We're just living a seekers life. (Not a zen life).. BUT, Then hopefully one day, one will wake up and realizes that there is actually nothing more than 'this moment' .. This moment 'is' it, is enlightenment itself. And then when he finally realizes this he no longer needs to 'seek' anymore because he's find zen again and he realizes that its been here all along. So he no longer is a 'spiritual seeker' hence he's back on the 'real' zen path, which is 'no path' = ordinary, how ur life was all along 'before' you jumped on the path. The reason we jump on the path is because we were knocked by something (this something could be a death, loss, work , money trouble etc etc) and then our own mind causes more problems because we let it control 'us' instead of controlling our mind! We let our mind tell us we need to 'find' something or we need to change etc etc.. But we don't! Life is just what it is.. Always has been always will be!
We shouldn't worry about what is not!
We should just be!
(This is zen)
Thway doesn't need cultivating , just don't polute it ! ;-)
(P.s) zen is very hard to understand by people who are deeply lost in spiritualality! The more they seek the more they will suffer because they believe there is 'something' to attain! And they are completely not doing themselves any favours!
(However, we sometimes have to suffer and seek to 'see' it)
Its just a shame that not everyone wakes up!
And some people spend there whole lifes seeking something which isn't!
Being on the spiritual path can be scary!
It will make or break you!Source(s): A tree is a tree - it is tall An ant is an ant - it is small You are you - you are...............?

I don't mean to be snarky, but if you'd like to develop a Zen approach to your life, you might take up the practice of Zen Buddhism.
Zen Buddhist training helps people bring wisdom, compassion, kindness, generosity and ease to life's many different situations.
When people meet someone who has engaged in serious Zen practice, they often find themselves relaxing and opening up. That's one of the benefits of Zen training - it actually delivers a Zen lifestyle and attitude.
But a Zen attitude isn't like putting on a suit of clothes. You can't buy it in a store and you can't get it by thinking good thoughts. You can't become Zen by manipulating your personality.
The only certain way to become Zen is . . . to do it. Do the real work of Zen training. It's not hard, nor is it easy. It's just a method that works.
Best wishes on your journey!

Believe it or not, it's really just about being yourself. No clever talks, no clever imaginations, just being yourself.
