What causes excessive Yawning?

Been yawning excessively over the past days with lighthead. Have I overdone it or could I be fighting off a virus?

You could be sick or you are not getting enough sleep.

Yawning is caused by lack of oxygen to the brain, excessive yawning could mean you have a respiratory problem, or there is something preventing you from getting the proper amount of oxygen. You should probably mention this to a health professional, or visit a doctor.

I highly doubt you are sick there are very very few if none of viruses that cause excessive yawning, get 8-9 hours of sleep per day if you can

Low oxygen levels in your blood, a yawn is your body's response to stimulate deep breathing.

Not enough oxygen in your body.

    Or

    Anxiety.

    A vitamin depletion.

    Or low blood iron.
