What if President Romney attacks Iran and want's to invade, but America's youth have wised up and refuse to?
enlist in high enough numbers to support an ongoing multiyear war?
- chocolahomaLv 78 years agoFavorite Answer
Candidate Romney has expressed no interest in starting a war with Iran. Frankly, I find the possibility that we will come into armed conflict with Iran to be no more or less likely with either Romney or Obama in the White House.
In fact, as Obama falters in pre-election polls (as he is right now-- some show him 5 points behind,) it is increasingly possible that Obama himself will resort to a splashy military action to try to improve his popularity.
So please, spare us your paranoid fantasies. We have enough paranoid fantasies of our own to get on with.

Then you have two choices. One is imposing a draft, and the other is hiring professional mercenary outfits like Blackwater, which is now known as Academi, I believe. Or both.
I wonder when some alleged journalist will press Mitt on whether he plans to ask for a Declaration of War against Iran from Congress or not and what will the threshold be for acting. It's not a terribly difficult question to answer even for Mitt.

The President cannot invade or attack another country without congressional approval and a declaration of war.
He can, deploys military forces in response to an attack on the U.S. for up to 90 days, but has to go to congress for anything longer than that and a formal declaration of war.

Try as hard as you can to understand. No one, least of all Mitt Romney, has proposed invading Iran. It is important that you learn to listen to the debate on critical issues without misunderstanding the conversation. Being dumb just isn't as fashionable as it used to be.

with the aid of fact regrettably the U. S. has nevertheless no longer found out from its humiliating defeat in Vietnam. Iraq and Afghanistan back a failure human beings foreign places coverage, shall we see what's occurs while the final US troops attempt to sneak out of those 2 international locations that they have got in part destroyed, ensuing in hundreds human beings troops death in vein and hundred of hundreds of indigenous human beings. the certainty that the resistance in those 2 international locations is spoke of with the aid of fact the insurgents, speaks to the Orwellian nature of the conflict. As Noam chomsky says "the U. S. is a optimal terrorist state, in spite of its good works.

Then we have a draft followed by a working class revolution followed by the ruling-class attempt to inflict brutal Nazi fascism upon the nation. Beyond that, it's anyone's guess.

If a frog had wings, he wouldn't bump his azz on the ground when he hops. IF's don't mean squat. And your scenario won't happen.

With food stamps and other freebies, you are right, there isn't much point in enlisting in the military anymore.

This asker is here for one reason and one reason only: to divert readers’ attention from the democrat party’s century-old Agenda:
Democrat President Wilson (1913-1918) presented The Agenda in broad terms, saying “You are not here merely to make a living. You are here to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, and with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world. You impoverish yourself if you forget this errand.”
He may have been the first democrat to realize the value of multiculturalism (“If it ain’t American, it’s good!”) in deconstructing America, saying, “No nation is fit to sit in judgment upon any other nation.” Obama put it this way: "Every nation is exceptional in its own way."
Democrat President Roosevelt (1933-1945) articulated the Agenda before Congress on January 11, 1944:
“We have accepted, so to speak, a second Bill of Rights...” which included:
-The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation
-The right of every family to a decent home
-The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health
-The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment.
The Agenda advanced hugely with LBJ’s Great Society, and Obama’s “Hope and Change” is a Great Leap Forward.
The Agenda is? To reconstitute America as a European style welfare state.
Democrats overwhelmingly support it:
-2/4/10 Gallup poll: 61% of liberals have a positive view of socialism.
-6/2/11 Gallup poll: 71% of democrats favor re-distributing wealth.
-Now they have national health care, the foundation of all welfare and socialist states.
Democrat government union workers love the Agenda -- they get “paid off” for giving almost all their political contributions to democrats:
-7/8/11 U. S. News Report (usnews.com): The actual number of private sector jobs decreased since 2008. Government jobs increased.
-6/8/12 Investors Business Daily: “Private-sector jobs are still down by 4.6 million, or 4%, from January 2008, when overall employment peaked. Meanwhile, government jobs are down just 407,000, or 1.8%. Federal employment actually is 225,000 jobs above its January 2008 level, an 11.4% increase.”
-3/31/10 postalemployeenetwork.com: “Postmaster Potter has made headway in reducing work hours and the costs of benefits and pensions, but the average postal employee still makes $83,000 in salary and benefits a year, placing postal workers among the highest-paid government employees.” (in Newsweek)
-8/13/10 USA Today: Federal civil servants earned average pay and benefits of $123,049 in 2009 while private workers made $61,051 in total compensation, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis.
-2/22/12 CNN, Buffalo, NY: “The sweet deal that all the 3,400 teachers in Buffalo are eligible to get under one of their insurance plan options, they are billed nothing for any plastic surgery procedure, such as botox, liposuction, tummy tucks, and there is no deductible..."
-6/11/12 Cato Institute (http://www.cato-at-liberty.org/obama-vs-%E2%80%A6 “...teacher employment has exploded — the public school workforce has grown 11 times faster than student enrollment over the last 40 years.” “Furthermore, on a per pupil basis, the inflation-adjusted average cost of a K-12 education has gone from about $55,000 to about $150,000.”
-6/14/12 townhall.com: Every pay period, the Philadelphia school district puts $155 per union member into a special fund that helps educators pay their personal legal bills, which includes everything from routine legal advice to estate planning.
Ignorant democrats are unaware of the Agenda because they get their “news” from the grossly pro-Agenda, liberal media:
Polls on how Americans saw the mainstream media (TV and print) election coverage in 2008:
-Rasmussen poll: 69% for Obama, 6% for McCain
-Pew Research poll: 67% for Obama, 11% for McCain
-Sacred Heart University poll: 68% for Obama, 9% for McCain
-Fox News/Opinion Dynamics poll: 67% for Obama, 11% for McCain
University of Connecticut’s Department of Public Policy survey of journalists, nationwide, during the 2008 election: 52% supported Obama versus 19% for McCain.
The democrat party’s devotion to changing America into a European style welfare state is as unyielding as that of Muslim fundamentalism. We can only hope that the pendulum is swinging: otherwise, the Party will destroy America.
11/5/11 AP: Self-professed conservatives now outnumber self-professed liberals in the United States, 42 percent to 21 percent.

Based on what I've just read, his stance is basically no different than Obamas'.
