Have you seen "City of Joy" with Patrick Swayze?

Do you think that Patrick Swayze's character would give a great example of how the Christian life could be lived out (sorta, kinda, like Mother Theresa w/o abnegation)... IS that what YOU consider a 'good' Christian?

It was a very moving film of a "lost" man seeking meaning and purpose. Personally, I enjoyed "The Children of Huang Shi" more as well as "Entertaining Angels: The Dorthy Day Story" with Moira Kelly and "Shadowlands" with Anthony Hopkins.

As a Christian, I don't believe anything, including our "good works" of working among the poor or even in orphanages in third world countries can save us. It's only faith in the cross of Christ and His shed blood that saves us and makes us good. We become holy and justified when God's Holy Spirit takes up residence within our hearts. As a result of that work of Christ and the Holy Spirit we seek to follow His example of living a sacrificial life of love and truth. We often fail but that is the goal - to offer our bodies as "living sacrifices" to God as the apostle Paul commanded in Rom. 12.
