PC to TV using HDMI cable but no sound from TV headphones?

Question

Using HDMI cable to connect laptop to LCD tv. i get both sound and picture on the tv. I have headphones connected to the TV. They get sound when watching digital tv channels but not when watching whats coming from the pc (the speakers on the tv do get sound but this does not seem to go to the headphones connected to audio out)

The headphones are connected to the TV not the laptop

use a 3.5 mm plugged cable......on laptop headphones jack.....on tv pc audio in .

Probably because you haven't change your PC sound output device to the headphones. Try right-clicking on your computer tray (The icon on the bottom right of the screen) and then on Playback Devices - it should open up a window. From there just disable everything else except your headphones (Also enable it if it isn't). If it doesn't work or you can't see it, try plugging it into your PC and try it again.

right click the little speaker at the bottom right of your screen select playback devices then right click hdmi output and set as default. you may then need to unplug the hdmi cable and reinsert before it works.
