birth+date不能 birth+day

Question

為何 birth 跟 day 不能分開呢 ??

只能birth date

要不就 birthday

順便問一下兩者之意有何不同?

birthday 是生日的意思, 視為口頭用語。 而birth date也是出生日期,但是是屬於文書上官方和正式用字。

舉例:

when is your birthday? 這是正確用法

不能說 when is your birth date? 這是錯誤用法

那birth date 通常是在填文書資料時會用到, birth date: yyyy/mm/dd

舉例: 國家入境卡或英語系國家用的填寫生日資料

According to English grammer, "birthday" is a vocabulary not allowed to separate it as birth+day. As to "birth date", few of them are being used it. Hopping that my answer will be of useful to you.
