That's a good question. no need to be afraid! they should respect the people that have died in the massacre and their families as well. it's just a minute, let's all sign and vote for it!

Israel is not the host country, so I doubt they'll get to decide what is done, but to answer they are afraid of disruption of the olympics in the future. What if the palestinians request that there be a moment of silence for Deir Yassin? What if a future olympics in turkey had a memorial for the murder of Armenians? It could get out of hand quickly.
