What size wire for 30kw 3ph 230volt heat kit?

    Calculate Amps (30,000 / 230) = 130.4 Amps

    1 ph to 3 ph (130.4 / 1.73) = 75.39 Amps

    HVAC 3 hour 125% (76 * 1.25) = 95 Amps

    #3 AWG CU THHN or

    #1 AWG AL THW

    Whatever is wrong. Those figures would work for single phase not 3 phase. Go with the answer from the JW from 46.

    Where are you that you have 3 Ph. 230V. Service??????

    For the more common 208V. 3 Ph. you'd need #2 AWG.

    Figure 130-150 amps.

    That's 1/0 gauge.
