How can religious people truly love?

When in their religion ( I am talking about all here) Have strict restrictions on love, whether it be not to love gays, non believers, fornicators, etc.... So how can you really LOVE with your hole heart, when in religion there are so many restrictions?

Love is not supposed to be hypocritical..... But an emotion our whole hearts should feel towards each other.

Some people have a very shallow and superficial understanding of the concept.

Good question, but unfortunately completely depends on the religion you are talking about. For example I am Christian meaning I believe in Jesus as the Son of God, in the Bible it will tell you that Jesus loved everyone the same. The Bible also say that Jesus spent a lot of his time with thieves, prostitutes and nonbelievers and loved them just as much as everyone else. Religion does not have restrictions it is the common people that follow religions without fully understanding concepts and religion it's self. Jesus was hung on the cross next to two thieves and he still blessed them, again it is not the religion it is the people, religion is more about love then oneself so the problems is people taking religion and making it for themselves.

Yes all religion bare grudges against believers who

fall away or dont attend regularly or contribute.

But from my experience, as a former JW. Is that JWs are

the very worst at this 'conditional' love from my previous

    association with them.

Shunning people who have NOT sinned just because they

no longer accept some of their teachings as correct!

Namely, those who disassociate who by JWs rules are then

disfellowshipped! They ignore the prodigal son illustration of

    God's Love!

And by the scriptures, such as at Genesis, when Abraham

questioned God. It obviously is permitted IF the person thinks

    their spirituality could be affected.

Yet, the JW organisation ignores this 'plea' by members.

JWs members are not allowed to question anything without

receiving some sort of punishment and persistence of such leads

    to being outcast.

Where is there true Godly Love? Where is the Holy Spirit which

supposedly directs them and cloaks them in Love from God?

Some JWs say there is no better religion but any religion that does

not allow concern for ones spiritual welfare is not good in any way!

no religion places any restrictions on Love. all true religions teach the unconditionality of Love.

ignorant people place restrictions on Love.

  • Erm, the restrictions in Orthodox Judaism are on sexual relations, not love.

Do you equate sex and love?

Religion is a system of rituals and practices conducted to bolster one's belief in scripture and dogma.

Love is superior to these things.

    Love is a social construct.

I just feel bad for those closed minded people. they are like zombies. I still can't figure out what's wrong with gay people. because nothing is wrong with them. they don't accept ****. they are fake.
