Did you have a favorite Ernest Borgnine movie?

The one I remember best was "From Here to Eternity," but he starred in many others during his long life and career. He died Sunday at age 95. I never saw "Marty," but heard good things about it. I also remember him in the TV series and movie, "McHale's Navy." He had a pretty good range of acting talent, playing heavies as well as good guys and even doing well in comedy. Most of today's actors would be hard-pressed to show as much talent as Ernie had.

Update:

Jose, go to your room.

I am with you. "From Here to Eternity" as Sargent "Fatso". I saw "Marty" as a 13 year old kid in 1955 and was impressed. The "Poseidon Adventure", he did a great job.

Edit: I totally forgot that he was a "Tin Can Sailor". He did a lot of work for veterans and our "Tin Can" museum ships. He was a member of "Tin Can Sailors", as I am, a life member.

Here is probably my most favorite Ernest Borgnine video.

Us old salts loved those " Tin Cans" as he did.

Edit: Totally forgot this one. One of the best.

Emperor of the North (1973). Great film.

One of the things I remember Ernest Bognine most from was his appearance on the 80's game show "Bullseye"...

I didn't care for any of his movies, but I really appreciated what he did for veterans. He used his celebrity to help those who served in the Armed Forces, and I am eternally grateful for that.
