HELP!: Xbox 360 VS Playstation 3?

Xbox 360 VS Playstation 3. [ 2012 Consoles ]

1. [INTERNET SERVICE]

Playstation 3:

Free, but laggy at times even with a good connection, and

also has major shutdowns due from hackers (Look it up on

google) you can't go into any kind of chat without being

in a game or using PS MOVE. You can get APPS like

(Netflix, and other cool stuff from PSN Store) You can

choose a huge selection of gamer pictures on here, such as

"Avatars"

Xbox 360:

Cost 49.99 for a year, but has great internet service as

in, no hackers since 4 years ago, smooth multiplayer,

party chat, private chat, many apps you can get ( Here is

some examples : Netflix, HULU Plus, Flixter, Zune,

Crackle, and next month they release Internet Explorer)

Also you can get player made games from the indie games

section, same as you can do from PSN. You can also choose

your gamer picture, and you can create your own cool

looking avatar.

2. [HARDWARE]

Playstation 3:

Honestly, Playstation 3 has had some major problems around

2007 - 2008 such as the "Green screen problem" that occurs

randomly when you're playing a game, aslo the problem when

your PS3 stops reading the CD. (Due to the open slit on

the console dust could get inside) The 2012 model has no

problems but they've really made the new model pretty

cheap. You have to use physical buttons instead of the

touch buttons. Also the plastic is cheap and feels like

you can break it pretty easy, and the skin on the PS3 is

plain instead of metallic. PS3's Hardware is built to last

longer for the upcoming games through the years.

Xbox 360:

The Xbox 360 has had some horrible problems during 2006 -

2010 such as the "Red ring of death" that happened

constantly, i had to return my xbox 360. But i have to

admit they where really sorry about the problem i had and

they fixed it for free, and gave me a free 1 month gold

membership. The 2012 Xbox model has no hardware problems

at all it's very quiet and it has touch buttons, and a

very nice look to the console (Like the mettalic look to

it, and the slimness of the console) Xbox 360 has a video

card only meant to last 10 years in the future for the

upcoming games.

3. [GAMES]

Most games usually release on both consoles, but i'm going

to talk about the seperate games for the consoles.

Playstation 3:

PS3 has not really been known for it's games but there has

been some pretty good games (Such as Little Big Planet,

Infamous, Gran Turismo, and Metal Gear Solid) not exacly

great games. But if you're a cheapo like me it might be a

good idea to buy a PS3 (If you're not a huge gamer of

course)

Xbox 360:

Now for some great xbox games. Gears Of War, Minecraft,

Left 4 dead PGR, Kameo, and the best game i came across is

Halo. I'm not exacly a fan of the xbox but i have to

admit, Halo CE, Halo 2, and Halo 3 have the best story to

a game i have EVER played. I thought the Metal Gear Solid

story was fatastic, but honestly it does not compete

against Halo's story. ( All of you judging the story are a

little bit off the road, why not go play 1, 2, and 3 in a

row and tell me what game has a better story )

4.[MOVE VS KINECT] - I'm sorry but i really thought this

would be a good topic to talk about.

Playstation 3:

Playstation move has a built in cam and it has a built in

mic. You have to use a controller for PS MOVE just like

you have to use a controller for the Wii, and i think this

is very stupid for Sony to basicly copy the Wii.

Xbox 360:

Xbox 360 Kinect has a cam, a mic, and a censor that scans

your face to automaticly logs you in to your Xbox profile.

On Kinect you do not need to hold any controller, but

you're available to use props for certain games if you

want to physicly grip something.

5.[CONTROLLERS]

Playstation 3:

PS3's Controller feels very small in adult hands, and the

plastic on it feels like it could break just by gripping

it too hard.

Xbox 360: Big enough to fit in adult hands, has a nice

rubber grip on the side, and feels really durable.

Personally, i've had my PS3 since 2007. But since most of

my friends currently own a Xbox 360 i'm most likely going

to switch.

So here is my QUESTION : If you had neither, what would you

choose?

Personally i dont see the point in having a PS3 unless you enjoy having problems constantly with your console and online play. The fees for xbox live play is well placed for security and service measures if you need it. On top of all the security you get just about every GIANT game that has came out with titles such as Bioshock, Skyrim, Halo, COD and other leading games have been made for both consoles. Xbox simply has a better online play community if your into that kind of thing, If you never play online that i would reccomend a PS3 however, if you do play online the fees are worth paying for. In terms of performance the Xbox has proven Slightly more superior then the PS3 SAYS THIS A+ CERTIFIED COMPUTER PROGRAMER. Hope I helped guy! Have a nice one.

  • Personally I love the Ps3, I grew up with the PS, PS2, and PSP. The PS3 also has netflix hulu etc. The controllers dont really matter, when you get your console doubt that would be your first thought. Ive had my ps3 for three-four years now only had one problem but I fixed it by just unplugging it and the Ps3s that usually have problems were the first ones that released(not the slim). Unless you play everyday or play all the time I'd go with Ps3. I also have many friends that use the Xbox but I live with it, I also have friends that Ps3s so Im happy. The Ps3 has Blu-ray and the Xbox has kinect. That's something you will have to think about but the ps3 has Move. Even if I had move or kinect I wouldnt really use it. The Xbox has more games but thats a personal choice. I dont have any lag problems(but I have good connection). It really depends on your connection. Also I doubt you would be throwing your ps3 like a football so the plastic is fine and the touch buttons would be a hassle if you were to accidentally touch it.

If you're looking to buy a Playstation 3 and Modern Warfare 3, then this bundle is a match made in Heaven. The stand-alone 320GB PS3 system retails for three hundred brand new, while MW3 is sixty. So it's like getting a free game, but that's where your benefits end. The console is your basic PS3 (not that that's a bad thing!) and the game is the standard edition. You still get one controller and no HDMI cable. And unlike last years PlayStation 3 160GB Call of Duty: Black Ops Bundle, there is no free map pack voucher. In fact, the only thing custom is the box!

    Ps3

u got so many points wrong. It got hacked once, not all the time and probably never again. The online is not laggy its all down to your connection, trust me I have both. Never had green screen problem and games nether just quit. Who cares about how the console feels as its usally rested on something, its not a handheld. Also ps3's are sturdier then xbox's. You said it yourself, Little big Planet, Infamous, Gran Tourismo. MGS4 is one of the best games of all time, plus stuff like resistance and drakes uncharted. Who cares about motion control, and if you do then why care about the controller. Anyway I have played with some big people and never once have they complained about the size or feeling like it will break.

    Source(s): have both, use one.

I have to say the ps3. It's already superior to the 360, with or without internet involved. People bag on the ps3 because sony got hacked, but its been fixed and accounted for. Xbox has games, but so does playstation. A great example of a game franchise xbox doesnt have is god of war. Go with the ps3 definately

well i got ps3 and let me say its 100000x better.

First off the online is not laggy and idk why people say it is. xbox is laggy too, it just depends on your internet. but ps3 is free :D

also it dosent get major shut downs, that happened once to psn and we can still play just not online. but we got two free games out of it, it was worth it :D

    also ps3 has like 20 amazing exclusives :) xbox has 3-4... -_-

sooo i would stick with ps3

only con about ps3 is its controller, which i got really used to know and cant use xboxes.

first of all PS3 doesnt lag at all

    Depends

if you want to play multiplayer with good quality, have a lot of money and dont mind buying a gift card every month than XBOX 360

    but

if you dont want to pay and want like 3-4 less features than PS3

Well i would recommend PS3 because for the xbox 360 you would have to pay for the card to play online . For the PS3 is free you just gotta make an account. Ps3 all the way!!! (slim)
