What percentage is real estate agent compensated in each sale?
- LandlordLv 77 years agoBest Answer
The standard is 6% and it is divided between 4 people, with each usually getting 1.5%
5% commissions are pretty common these days, banks ony pay that in my state.

Yes a 3-3 split is the norm but then the broker gets a cut. Also a listing agent pays for advertising & both agents have expenses. In most instances no taxes are paid by the broker so the agent is considered self-employed. That 3% dwindles quickly.

That is negotiable.
But it is typically 3% to the buyer's agent and 3% to the seller's agent.
