What does abec-9 bearing mean?
I am buying a longboard and it comes with abec-9 bearings. Is this a brand or a type of bearings? What is the difference between abec-5,7, and 9s? TNX

Abec rating 3, 5, 7, 9 is how precise the ball bearings are.
Abec rating has NO actual relation when it comes to skateboarding/longboarding. It is just an advertising scheme to make beginners pay more.
Get whatever bearings come with the board and clean/lube when needed. No need to upgrade or replace.

The ABEC scale is an industry accepted standard for the tolerances of a ball bearing. It was developed by the Annular Bearing Engineering Committee (ABEC) of the American Bearing Manufacturers Association (ABMA). There are five classes from largest to smallest tolerances: 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9. The higher ABEC classes provide better precision, efficiencySource(s): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ABEC_scale
