A bond is actually not a thing, nor does it consist of particles. A chemical bond is an electrostatic attraction of electrons by the two nuclei of the "bonded" atoms.

We sometimes talk about bonds as if the bond consists of a pair of electrons. But a bond is not the electrons, rather it is the attraction of the electrons by the nuclei.
