A Sunday morning thought, would you add a verse in same meter and rhyme scheme?
Morning has broken the crystalline sky,
fragments of light spread to both you and I.
Far reaching arms of our Father on nigh
tenderly touch us as day passes by.

Morning has broken the crystalline sky,
fragments of light spread to both you and I.
Far reaching arms of our Father on nigh
tenderly touch us as day passes by.
Birds seem to join in a choral array.
Wind rustled leaves, as the wild flowers sway.
Heed the advice of your heart and obey.
Yesterday's turmoil not worthy to weigh.

Morning has broken the crystalline sky,
fragments of light spread to both you and I.
Far reaching arms of our Father on nigh
tenderly touch us as day passes by.
Noon carries blue over the hillside ,
Stretching his fingers over the town wide.
Laughs drift from parks with children on slides
But soon they are silenced as dusk does abide.
Night throws his blanket over the far,
Quietly glowing like ember and char.
Let's hush goodnight the drones of cars
And whisper our prayers to twinkling stars.
Dreams will find you in the night,
Comfort from awaiting blights.
But tomorrow holds both wrong and right,
So when dawn comes reach for the light.
I'm not a poet, so I don't know if I have the meter and scheme right, but it was fun writing.

Morning has broken the crystalline sky,
fragments of light spread to both you and I.
Far reaching arms of our Father on nigh
tenderly touch us as day passes by.
Branches of shade trees reach up through the blue,
birds lilt psalms of worship to praise the Lord, who
created this world for me and you,
He watches over us in all we do.

I saw the dawn and wondered about day.
The night was gone and I was so glad- Say?
Did you see those clouds? The ones with a sway
in their backs makes me think that God will stay.
Wait - let me try again - I used the same word (sway) as Doe did. I didn't read her first but still,
The pink dawn comes from behind the tree.
I know God sees all and indeed sees me
I ask and implore him please let me be,
Don't give this task, but if so, let me see.

NATURE/GOD

(a conversation about gods and nature*)
*even numbered paragraphs being the counterpoint
Morning has broken the crystalline sky,
fragments of light spread to both you and I.
Far reaching arms of our Father are nigh
tenderly touch us as day passes by.
--->Brush-strokes emit from his glorious wrist
--->gracing the landscapes awake, as if kissed
--->by the Prince of all Princes whose presence is missed.
--->As for me? It's just Nature...God doesn't exist...;¬)
When will He make that final appearance
will I be given a ticket and an entry clearance
will He take my hand and say child, advance
or did I loose my place with that silent glance?
--->Long lines of aloha from the Lord of Light
--->glimpsing forever for those with less sight
--->tarnished by those who anticipate slight
--->the god of this glory is no judging wight!
Branches of shade trees reach up through the blue,
birds lilt psalms of worship to praise the Lord,
who has created this world both for me and for you,
He watches over us always in all that we do.
[I would LOVE to post this on my blog if all parties were agreeable!]

I'm so glad I didn't miss this! It is so beautiful and you have some wonderful additions. Thanks Sue this is a feel good (and God) poem.
Fly by the hours now afternoon shades
cottons of fluffy white clouds parade.
Suspended swing hangs from the tree where I lay
reading and napping and loving the sway.

Evening is silent with quieting hands
Still bonded through time when twilight arrives
Comforting moments we'll never demand
While we listen and smile with loving sighs

Without which my day would start different, not fine -.
And outside of the city, new lambs all are borning -
From country to country, His offerings Divine.

Then now is the time to run to the store,
get new flashlight for beside my front door.
Tripping in darkness can be quite a chore
when many shoes are all over the floor.

Edit:Ma: Pay no attention to the hysterics and non-relevant babble below from Chipper(?) and Dave.. My post was in reply to your request, and I believe continued your meter and rhyme scheme, but obviously, from my own point of view. No malice, no hidden agenda. Have a nice Sunday Sue. ;¬)
